Indiana Companion Animal Network

In Indianapolis, Indiana, the percentages of stray and surrendered animals euthanized at the city’s two animal shelters vastly exceeded comparable statistics in smaller metropolitan areas and even entire small states. Animal overpopulation contributes materially to euthanasia rates when unspayed and unneutered cats and dogs breed, and their litters become strays. The Indiana Companion Animal Network sought to launch a mobile spay/neuter facility that would provide low-costs procedures for lower-income families, and support the trap/neuter/return efforts that help control feral cat colonies. The project carried a $587,000 fundraising target.

B Plus C Communications created a case study that educated potential donors about the problems that lead to animal overpopulation, and showed how the I-CAN facility would benefit the community. The study was designed for output on desktop equipment so the organization could print copies on demand.
